Tata Power-DDL to organise special Lok Adalat on Sunday, 19 December for on-the-spot settlement of power theft cases

Tata Power-DDL, a leading power utility supplying electricity to 7 million people in North and North-West Delhi, is organising a special lok adalat’ to settle electricity theft cases on 19 December 2021 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The Delhi Discom, in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority, will be conducting this session at the following two locations through physical / virtual mode, in adherence with Covid-19 safety guidelines:–

  1. Permanent Lok Adalat, Mata Sundari Lane, Near Bal Bhavan
  2. Tata Power-DDL’s EAC office, Sector-3, Rohini

To participate in the session, litigants can register prior to the Lok Adalat by contacting the number – 19124 or the EAC office, Sector-3, Rohini, keeping in mind consumer safety and convenience. The session will provide Tata Power-DDL consumers / litigants, residing in North and North-West Delhi, a one-time opportunity, for an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of their power theft cases, relating to both Direct Theft (DT) and Meter Tampering (DAE).

Cases that are either pending in any Court of Law or are yet to be filed in any Court of Law will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Consumers who wish to settle their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their authorised representatives carrying ab authorisation letter, photo ID and a copy of their theft bill.

This is the last opportunity being provided to these consumers to settle their power theft cases. In case of a default, the company will initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision of Electricity Act, 2003. Consumers can pay through various modes such as demand draft, cheque, credit card, debit card, online payment or cash.
