New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), in its endeavour to continually improve and enhance the quality of life of individuals and communities through a multitude of initiatives, has announced the launch of ‘Naya Connection Sahayata Kendra’. The initiative aims to extend support for new electricity connection services to its consumers residing in JJ clusters of North Delhi.
With this launch, Tata Power-DDL has further reiterated its belief of giving back to the society by working towards empowering the impoverished sections and enriching the quality of life of the communities it operates in. The Sahayata Kendras will be run by Abha members who are engaged in reaching out to the residents of JJ clusters in order to maximise the visibility and benefits of community initiatives run by Tata Power-DDL. Abhas are women representatives who are roped in to drive social innovation programmes in JJ clusters under Tata Power-DDL’s Special Consumer Group. They will assist the consumers in applying for a new connection in an easy and hassle-free new manner through online mode, without paying any registration cost. Additionally, a dropbox has been installed outside the kendras where the customers will be able to leave their details in case an Abha member is not available at the centre. The resolution of suspended / cancelled new connection cases will also be done via these kendras.
Commenting on the initiative, Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL, said, “Reaching out to the communities we operate in has always been an integral part of the work done by the company. We, at Tata Power-DDL, have been relentlessly working towards uplifting the livelihood of the community and fostering its holistic development through our various CSR initiatives. We are committed to transform, empower and strengthen the lives of people residing in JJ clusters by ensuring the social wellbeing of the residents through our community outreach programmes.”
The centre is operational at five locations presently: Dera Ghazi Khan (JJC- Pitampura), Lal Bagh (Model Town), Sanjay Colony (Badli), Bawana JJ Colony, and Cluster C-9 and C-10, Mangolpuri.
