Tata Power–DDL signs MoU with Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd to provide education and training related to AMI deployment

This collaboration will facilitate development and customised delivery of impactful technical training programmes coupled with a practical approach towards maintenance of smart electrical network

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL), a pioneering power utility supplying electricity to a populace of over 7 million in north Delhi, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd (Genus Power) to provide education and training on smart meters / AMI deployment and its related aspects. This collaboration will facilitate development and customised delivery of impactful technical training programmes coupled with a practical approach towards maintenance of smart electrical network.

TPDDL and Genus Power signed an MoU to provide education and training related to AMI Development in the presence of Mr. Subir Verma, Chief-HR, IR& EHS, TPDDL and Mr. Ashish Tandon, Executive VP, Genus Power

As a part of the MoU, Tata Power-DDL and Genus Power will conduct capacity building training programmes dedicated towards encouraging best practices in the area of smart meter / AMI deployment for the betterment of DISCOMS. This is expected to yield an array of skilled ‘smart’ utility workforce in India and globally through the joint efforts of both the parties. Genus Power will act as the technical guidance partner for TATA Power DDL.

Commenting on the association, Subir Verma, chief-HR, IR& EHS, Tata Power-DDL, said, “Tata Power-DDL has been a front runner in the implementation of smart grid technologies and also the roll-out of smart metering in its distribution area.
