New Delhi: Tata Power DDL, a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of seven million in North and North-West Delhi, is organising a special ‘Lok Adalat’ on February 12, 2022, from 10am to 4pm in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) for on-the-spot settlements of power theft cases.
The session will be conducted at the following two locations through physical/virtual mode, strictly in adherence to Covid-19 safety guidelines:
Keeping in mind consumer safety, all litigants are advised to register prior to the Lok Adalat by calling on 19124 or writing to eac.care@tatapower-ddl.com
The Lok Adalat will take up cases that are either pending in any Court of Law or are yet to be filed in any Court of Law. Therefore, consumers desirous of settling their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their authorised representatives carrying authorisation letters, photo IDs, and a copy of their theft bill.
In case of a default, criminal proceedings will be initiated against these consumers under the relevant provision of the Electricity Act, 2003. Post the ‘settlement orders’, individuals are also advised to pay their bills on a timely basis. They can pay through various modes such as demand draft, cheque, credit card, debit card, online payment or cash.
