New Delhi, June 22, 2022: Tata Power Delhi Distribution, a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7 million in the North and Northwest Delhi, in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), will be organising a ‘Special Lok Adalat’ for amicable resolution and on-the-spot settlement of direct thefts and disconnection cases. The session will be held at District Electricity Office Ishwar Colony Bawana, opposite Aditi Girls College, Delhi, on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 10 am to 4 pm, strictly in adherence with the Covid-19 safety guidelines.
Cases that are either pending in any court of law or are yet to be filed will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Those desirous of settling their electricity theft cases can either attend in person or through their authorised representatives carrying an authorisation letter.
All the litigants may register prior to the Lok Adalat by calling on 19124 or by writing to eac.care@tatapower-ddl.com. To ensure the success of the Lok Adalat, Tata Power-DDL is actively informing customers through various channels.
Consumers who look forward to settling their power-theft cases can use this opportunity for an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of unsolved cases. In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision of the Electricity Act, 2003. Consumers can pay their bills through various modes such as demand draft, cheque, credit card, debit card, online modes or cash.
Moreover, keeping with Tata Power Delhi Distribution’s pro-environment policies, the Lok Adalat promises to be an environment-friendly affair. Tata Power Delhi Distribution and DSLSA are taking special care to make this Lok Adalat a paperless one. There will be no physical movements of files. All relevant case documents and files will be accessible from the computers that will be deployed for the purpose.
