Bombay House has been awarded the BEE 5 Star rating by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. This label has been granted for its performance on the Energy Performance Index. The Tata group headquarters scored 85.85 (KWH/sqm/annum), which is in the category of 5 Star, the highest rating.
The Associated Building Company team put in a number of efforts to reduce the energy consumption of the building. These steps included the installation or maintenance and constant monitoring of an energy efficient chiller plant, HVAC pumps with VFD, Led lighting fixtures, elevators and water pumps and equipment and appliances etc, as well as an integrated BMS system.
In February 2022, Bombay House was awarded the Platinum Rating by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The IGBC certifies buildings as part of the IGBC Green Existing Building Ratings System.
The main purpose of both the IGBC and BEE Certification is to reduce the carbon footprint.
