The fourteenth edition of Tata Volunteering Week (TVW14), launched on September 5, 2020, successfully concluded on October 7, 2020. TVW14 offered a range of company-organised virtual volunteering opportunities and witnessed the participation of senior leaders, colleagues, family members and retirees from across the globe, who came together to join in the ‘Work From Heart’ campaign while being at home. This was a special edition as, for the first time, a large part of the volunteering was done remotely due to the pandemic.
Over 2,500 volunteering activities were conducted by 35 Tata companies across 75+ cities, to support 250+ partners (non-profits, orphanages, local self-governments, schools, hospitals, villages and communities). A total of 25,000+ volunteers contributed their time, effort and expertise to causes ranging from COVID awareness and precautionary measures to mentoring and counselling young adults. Our volunteers clocked more than 60,000 hours, reaching out to 1 lakh+ beneficiaries.
Activities were moulded to engage employees at home and ranged from mask making to health awareness sessions and webinars covering a variety of topics such as how to grow nutrition-packed microgreens at home for caregivers of differently-abled children. Companies also took the initiative to curate on-the-ground activities such as tree plantation, food and linen donation and cleanliness drives, while adopting precautionary measures like wearing masks and maintaining physical distance. The spirit of volunteering shined through and the edition saw many family members participating in activities too.
Glimpses of the kinds of volunteering activities undertaken by our volunteers through this period can be seen on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages and in the TVW14 newsletter (The Daily Vibe). Details and pictures of many more activities can be found at the Tata Engage Experience Hub.
